A man and woman were arrested shortly after two alleged incidents took place within an hour in the Geelong region, south-east of Melbourne on Monday. It's alleged the group were dressed in suits and blue gloves and carried fake police lanyards, clipboards and a search warrant. Two men were allegedly approached by a woman and three men in a black Mazda on Solar Drive in Whittington just after 8am. The group allegedly identified themselves as police and searched the men before stealing their mobile phones and wallets and fled the scene. Victoria Police are hunting for a group who allegedly posed as fake cops in the Geelong area on Monday (stock image) An hour later, the same group allegedly attended a nearby home in Orbit Drive where they allegedly told the occupants, a family of four, that they were police before entering armed with a fake search warrant. The group allegedly ransacked the home and stole two cars, mobile phones, cash and a CCTV modem. A man, 27, and woman, 25, both from Corio were later arrested 10km away in Norlane. The pair were charged with a lengthy list of offences, including robbery, false imprisonment, home invasion, impersonating police officers and vehicle theft. All three cars have since been recovered. Two other men allegedly involved remain on the run. Police investigations continue. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
