An 'anarchist' protestor was caught siding with Trump supporters in Manhattan as they wait for the former-president's potential arrest - despite unwittingly being outed as a possible Antifa-supporter himself.

The Big Apple has been braced for riots since Donald Trump announced he would be indicted Tuesday by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.

And one moment sparked controversy amid tense scenes near Trump Tower, where a man dressed similarly to the notorious 'Q-Anon Shaman' from the January 6 riots was confronted by Trump supporters for allegedly faking his MAGA-inclinations.

However, one of those screaming at the man to prove he was not 'wearing a wire' was spotted earlier in the day with his hood down, exposing an 'anarchist' tattoo commonly worn by Antifa agitators.

Swarmed by furious protestors for apparently faking his support for Donald Trump, the man dressed in a 'shaman' outfit came face-to-face with another demonstrator for being 'a plant'.

The claim comes off the back of years of speculation among Trump supporters that the federal government sends agitators to hostile scenes to escalate incidents.

While the 'shaman' bares his chest and fires back, 'Do you want to see?', a third man closes in and again orders him to prove he isn't wearing a microphone.

'He's got more wires than a PlayStation,' he jokes. 'Show us the wire!'

The bizarre interaction ends with the supposed-faker stripping off his shirt and revealing he isn't wearing a recording device before exclaiming: 'Let's go Trump'.

But despite celebrating through the streets and joining in the MAGA-supporting chant, the third man to join in the episode was later allegedly revealed as a potential faker himself.

Independent photojournalist Rebecca Brannon, who shared the initial footage online, added that she spotted the man had a tattoo of the anarchist logo on his neck - a common symbol among Antifa members.

'I noticed his circle-A tattoo - the classic symbol prominently associated with Antifa and anarchists,' she said.

'He knew I noticed then put his hoodie up'.

The speculation comes as conspiracies have swirled for years that authorities, particularly the FBI, send in 'plants' to incite hostility at right-wing events.

These conspiracies erupted following the scenes on January 6,
