The senator was wearing a Tame Impala t-shirt while addressing reporters during an unscheduled interview in the hallways of federal parliament in Canberra on Tuesday morning. But snooty Sky News journalist Caleb Bond was not impressed with the senator's casual attire in the workplace, and called him out on live TV last night. He began his rant discussing how Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews rarely wears ties when addressing the media before unleashing into Pocock. 'He couldn't even put on a collared shirt,' Bond said. 'Go to a shop and go and buy a bloody shirt, tie and a suit. You're a politician!' 'I'd come straight from an early morning game of tennis to celebrate 100 years of Tennis ACT and agreed to do a door stop (not a prearranged interview) in the hallway on the way out of the Press Gallery after a morning radio interview. 'Great to see the big issues being reported.' Many commended Senator Pocock on his taste in music as well as his dress sense. 'A Tame Impala Shirt is just so much better than a suit,' one follower wrote. Another added: 'As a resident of the ACT, I don't care what you're wearing. I'm interested in good policy that benefits the country. If you can do that in shorts and thongs, I'll take that over someone in a suit who achieves nothing.' A third wrote: I'm 100% in favour of David Pocock wearing an Australian band t-shirt for every interview.' David Pocock has been praised for his love of Tame Impala as well as his dress sense Others questioned who declared Bond as the parliament fashion police. 'If that’s all Sky has to complain about it really says more about them than David Pocock…and he doesn’t need to explain himself,' one wrote. Another added: 'As a resident of the ACT, I don't care what you're wearing. I'm interested in good policy that benefits the country. If you can do that in shorts and thongs, I'll take that over someone in a suit who achieves nothing.' Many also pointed out previous prime ministers had conducted media in similar attire, including avid cyclist Tony Abbott and Wallabies jersey and tracksuit tragic John Howard. Pocock is a former Wallabies flanker who played 78 tests for Australia before becoming one of two senators elected to represent ACT in the 2022 election.
