A P-plater trying to offload their iconic Ford Falcon in the twilight of its life has used a photo that could only appeal to other revheads.

The Sydney driver uploaded a photo of the 1999 Ford Falcon to Facebook Marketplace for $3,000 and included a photo of when they'd been caught by NSW Police Highway Patrol.

In the photo, the police car's sirens could be seen flashing away while the officer bends down next to the maroon-coloured car to check out its wheels.

After 23 years on the road, the automatic transition Ford had clocked up 152,000kms with the P-plater revealed it was in need of a new owner.
