North Carolina's state auditor appeared in court today to plead guilty to a hit-and-run crash which saw her drive her car on top of another after drinking 'two glasses of wine' at a Christmas party.
Beth Wood admitted two misdemeanor charges today relating to the December 8 crash. She claims to have only had two drinks at the party, and insists she wasn't impaired when she turned a corner in her state-issued Toyota Camry.
She ended up not only crashing into a parked car, but also mounting it. Unable to move the car, she got out and simply walked away from the scene.
She didn't report it until the next morning.
