The buyer of a multi-million dollar townhouse has made a surprising request for copper plates to be buried under its floors.

Plus Agency general manager Peter Li sold a townhouse in Linfield, in Sydney's Upper North Shore, to a Chinese buyer for $4.786 million, last year.

The home is one of eight luxury townhouses on Wolseley Road, boasting high-tech inclusions like biometric door locks and EV chargers.

The buyer contacted Mr Li requesting copper plates be buried under the floors throughout the entire townhouse for good Feng Shui - an ancient Chinese practice claiming to use energy to harmonise an individual with their surroundings.

The owner would be considered as 'walking on good fortune' as the metal's conductive properties are associated with the flow of energy in Feng Shui.
