Taylor Swift vs. Radio DJ David Mueller

In 2017, Taylor Swift won her countersuit against a fired radio DJ in Denver who was forced to pay the singer a symbolic $1 after groping her years before.

The pop singer accused former radio host David Mueller of groping her during a meet-and-greet photo session in June 2013 at the Pepsi Center.

Mueller had first sued the singer, her mother and radio promotions director Frank Bell in 2015. He had accused them of interfering with his $150,000-a-year contract as a radio DJ in Denver by pressuring his employer, KYGO radio, to fire him.

She countersued Mueller for a symbolic $1 because she wanted the trial to serve as an 'example to other women.'

In a championing moment during the trial, Mueller's lawyer asked Swift how she felt about Mueller losing his job over the encounter to which Swift responded, 'I'm not going to allow you or your client to make me feel in any way that this is my fault.'

She added, 'Here we are years later, and I'm being blamed for the unfortunate events of his life that are the product of his decisions — not mine.'

Her attorney pointed out how Swift had no reason to make the story up and was not seeking a large payout but a $1 token award instead.

It mirrored Gwyneth Paltrow's recent ski crash case in which she also countersued for just $1.

On day four of the Park City, Utah, civil trial regarding a Feb. 26, 2016 skiing accident at Utah's Deer Valley Resort, the Oscar winner, 50, testified, and the plaintiff's attorney Kristin VanOrman asked Paltrow about the single dollar in damages she is asking for if the jury rules in her favor.

'It's an actual dollar that I'm asking for,' Paltrow told the court, adding that the amount is 'symbolic because the damages would actually be more,' when VanOrman asked about previous statements she made about the symbolic nature of the request.

'Remember me asking you, is it symbolic and you said yes it is, and I asked you as well, well you learned about that through Taylor Swift, because she asked for $1 in symbolic damages, right?' the attorney asked, to which Paltrow replied, 'I think I said at that point that I had not been familiar with it but I since am.'

In 2009, former flight attendant Corrine Gehrls claimed she was fired after Oprah wrongfully accused her of having sex with a pilot on the talk show host's private jet.

Gehrls alleged that flight attendant Myron Gooch and Winfrey's goddaughter, Kirby Bumpus, made false and defamatory accusations that led to her dismissal.

Gehrls and chief pilot Terry Pansing, 57, were fired after the allegations of the 'mile high' sex were made, despite that the pair both later passed a lie detector test.

The flight attendant said Winfrey and other passengers were 'dozing' in their seats having taken sleeping pills for the flight.

The $316,000 lawsuit alleges that Gooch made the accusations after Gehrls and Pansing complained that he refused to work as scheduled, asked for his hours to be changed so he could 'attend to his cats', and insisted on staying in better hotels than the rest of the crew.

According to legal documents, the 'Parties agree to the terms of settlement. Stipulation of Dismissal to be filed with the District Court.'
