Nearly half of Americans think that the Manhattan grand jury charges against Donald Trump are 'politically motivated'.
A new survey from ABC News/IPSOS shows that 32 percent of Americans don't think the grand jury should have moved to indict the former president, while 45 percent think the charges were warranted.
Meanwhile, the parties are very far-off when it comes to whether they feel that the indictment levied last week was motivated by political reasons.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg investigated Trump's alleged hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, claiming the courts in New York were concerned over crimes that could be linked to violations of campaign finance rules.
The prosecution's case convinced the grand jury to indict Trump on several counts. Although it remains under seal, reports indicate that Trump is facing more than 30 counts related to business fraud.
