The Colt incest family is almost all grown up and a family tree of the depraved clan, whose discovery living in isolation in the hills behind a country town rocked the world, shows its tangled bloodlines.

Four generations of inbreeding had gone virtually unnoticed, until authorities uncovered the clan living in filthy conditions on an isolated bush block outside Boorowa, four hours south-west of Sydney.

In 2012, shocked police and welfare workers found a living area of the farm that 'smelt of urine and faeces' which lay in open buckets among the sleeping areas, and was also populated by about 20 dogs.

By that time, the Colt's patriarch, Tim, who had moved the family between rural Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia to evade detection as he fathered his daughter's children, had died.

Tim's wife June, herself the product of a brother and sister relationship, had also died, but not before at least two of her children, a sister and brother, had a firmly  established relationship of their own.

And two of the next generation - a brother and sister who were the children of Tim's favourite daughter Betty - had also taken up with each other and had three children, one of whom had died from a genetic disorder.

The rampant sexual practices detailed in the original NSW Children's Court judgment among the closely related Colt children, and their detachment from society suggested the practices would have continued.

The court appointed the family a pseudonym, Colt, to protect the identity of the children, 12 of whom were removed due to neglect.

All but one of the children removed were found by DNA testing to have homozygosity, that is their parents were closely related or very closely related, meaning their parents were brother and sister or a parent and child.

Many of the children spoke unintelligibly, walked in a shuffling fashion, had never used toilet paper or a toothbrush, could not read or write, had fungal infections, and rotting teeth.

The children were dirty, wore dirty clothing and were shy and unable to make eye contact. It emerged that they were malnourished, and routinely sexually abused and, assaulted.

Their removal by NSW's then Family and Community Services department from the communal compound broke up the Colts, who are now scattered across four states.

The farm was also sold, leaving some of them heartbroken and unhappy.

TIM COLT

The family patriarch, Tim Colt fancied himself as a travelling minstrel, the frontman for his touring family band.

Born in 1943, he and June Colt, who died in Victoria in 2001, had seven children, Rhonda, Betty, Cherry, Frank, Charlie, Paula and Martha.

He was a sexual abuser of his own daughters, in particular Betty who gave birth to 13 children, nine of whom were among the Colt children DNA tested and five found to be the children of related parents.

Betty was probably sexually molested  by her father as young as 12 years old, and court documents reveal that Tim, who died in 2009, was the name given by some of her children when asked who their father was.

Betty Colt's solicitor tendered a letter to the court detailing that she had been informed that Betty, Rhonda and Martha Colt's maternal grandparents  - the parents of their mother June - were brother and sister.

BETTY COLT

Now in her early 50s, Betty Colt is the mother of 13, grandmother of at least four and had five of her children removed in 2012, two of whom - Billy and Bobby - she attempted to kidnap from foster care.

Betty smuggled the boys, then aged 14 and 15, a mobile phone and charger during contact visits and then set up a 'runaway plan', recruiting her elder son Bobby to kidnap his brother Billy.

She planned to take Bobby and Billy to South Australia where they were to work as fruit pickers.

DNA tests showed Bobby's father was either Betty's own father or one of her brothers, and NSW Police wire taps revealed the then 48-year-old had a sexualised relationship with the 15-year-old.

In the taped conversations, Betty called her son 'big boy', told him he had a 'sexy' voice and that she couldn't wait to be reunited with him.

'They'll find it very hard to f***ing get you back,' she told Bobby.

'They don't know who your father is...don't talk to anyone, tell Billy not to talk to anyone.'

Betty Colt was jailed for 12 months over the kidnap plot and is now believed to live in country NSW along with one of her sons, who is now aged in his 20s.

Betty's youngest daughter Carmen revealed after she had been taken into care that she had sex with family members.

She also said that three of her brothers, Brian, Dwayne and Billy had once taken her and Kimberly - the teenage daughter of Betty's daughter Raylene - to the bush, tied them to a tree and took their clothes off.

She also said she had watched her brother Dwayne have sex with Cindy, the five-year-old daughter of Carmen and Dwayne's aunt Rhonda.

Carmen is reported to have said that her father was her maternal uncle, Charlie Colt.

 MARTHA COLT

Martha Colt had six closely related children, one of whom died and four of whom were the product of a father-daughter or
