Gavin Newsom is going all-in on his attacks on Ron DeSantis, claiming that there's no way the popular Florida governor will beat Donald Trump in a primary and slamming his signage of a permitless carry law.
The Democratic California governor's repeated criticism of DeSantis seems to be setting up a rivalry as Americans call for new blood in the White House – while it appears the 2024 presidential election could be another show-down between septuagenarian Trump and octogenarian President Joe Biden.
DeSantis, 44, has not yet announced whether he is running in the GOP primary, but many expected him to take his growing war chest and enter the race in coming months.
Newsom, 55, says there's no shot the Florida Republican wins against the former president.
'He's gonna get rolled by Trump,' Newsom told former White House Press Secretary and now MSNBC host Jen Psaki. 'Trump's just gonna roll him. Thumped.'

DeSantis has not yet announced a bid for president, but is so far the only one who is giving Trump a run for his money in the polls
'Honestly, if I were offering him political advice, I'd tell him to pack up and wait a few years,' Newsom added in his Sunday interview with Psaki.
He also claimed that DeSantis is 'scared of the public.' It's unclear what this attack was in reference to, but could be the fact that Florida governor has snubbed most mainstream media by refusing to engage in interviews with outlets his office views as unfavorable of his policies and positions.
