House Speaker Kevin McCarthy illustrated the growing bipartisan divide over Israel on Monday during a visit to Jerusalem, criticizing President Joe Biden for failing to invite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House.
Instead, he said he was prepared to invite the Israeli premier to address Congress.
'It's been too long,' McCarthy said in an interview with the Israel Hayom newspaper.
'If that doesn't happen, I'll invite the prime minister to come meet with the House. He's a dear friend.'
Netanyahu returned to power four months ago atop a hardline coalition and controversial plans to rein in the county's supreme court.
