A family which has paid £100,000 over its historic role in slavery would consider compensation to Ireland over the Great Famine.
Yesterday former BBC journalist Laura Trevelyan said her great-great-great-grandfather Sir Charles Trevelyan was among the officials who 'failed their people' in the 1840s.
The potato crop blight led to the death of a million people and forced another two million to emigrate.
