A twister was seen cruising on top of a Montana mountain leaving spectators in awe of the rare sighting.
Footage of the tornado posted to Reddit on Tuesday by user GesaSaint has gone viral as the dark funnel can be seen coming down from a cloud and touching the Mission Valley mountain range.
The unusual occurrence garnered the attention of spectators across the US, especially since twisters rarely form on mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
But, on a few occasions, a tornado has been seen on a Yellowstone National Park mountain that towers up to 10,000 feet.
The twister arrived in time for Montana's tornado season which runs from May to August, according to KRTV.
A change in wind direction mixed with a low amount of moisture is enough to get a funnel to form.
