At the ripe old age of 79, Robert De Niro has become a father — again.
The now seven-time dad has sired daughter Gia Virginia with Tiffany Chen — a martial-arts instructor and mere whippet of a thing at 45.
‘This baby is planned… they’re over the moon,’ TV host Gayle King gushed on CBS Mornings as she revealed the birth date (April 6th) and weight (8lb 6oz) of little Gia live on-air on Thursday.
De Niro’s oldest child is ‘in their early 50s’, Gayle added.
That’s right, the septuagenarian actor — who’s now made mothers of four women - has children old enough to be grandparents.
So I’m sorry, but I’m going to be the one to say it: I don’t think this should be celebrated. In fact, I find the whole thing rather creepy.
The hard reality is that De Niro probably won’t live long enough to be remembered by this baby, let alone have the energy while he is still alive to engage in all the boisterous activities that come with new fatherhood.

Being a parent ‘never gets easier’, he admitted himself in an interview on Monday. He can say that again!
I wonder: will the nanny be putting Gia or old man Robert to bed first?
Of course, it goes without saying that a baby is a wonderful thing — and I would never want to deny another woman the chance to be a mother.
But - and this may come as a shock to a man worth some $500million — sometimes you have to think about someone other than yourself.
For in ‘planning’ to have this child, De Niro has done a selfish thing. He has effectively robbed his new daughter of a father — and Ms Chen of a co-parent by her side.
The adulation being showered upon the couple also highlights a sad hypocrisy.
When in 2021 model Naomi Campbell welcomed a baby — reportedly via surrogate — at 50, she was widely admonished for it.
But this week People Magazine applauded De Niro as the newest member of ‘Hollywood’s Older Dads Club’. Fellow honorees included former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, who had his fourth child at 89 - and Mick Jagger, who had his eighth at 73.
