Two unknown and 'exceptionally rare' paintings by Rembrandt have been discovered in a private collection in the UK and they are now expected to sell for £13million at auction.
The Dutch master painter's portraits of his relatives are expected to sell for between £5million and £8million.
Signed by Rembrandt and dated to 1635, the pictures depict wealthy plumber Jan Willemsz van der Pluym and his wife Jaapgen Carels, who were from a prominent family in the Dutch city of Leiden.
They are said to have acquired a garden next to Rembrandt's mother in Leiden that year.
