A prominent ABC radio presenter who suddenly vanished from the airwaves weeks ago has lodged a bullying claim against the national broadcaster. 

Nicole Chvastek, whose drive program was broadcast to regional Victoria, southern NSW and eastern SA for 11 years, has taken her case to the Fair Work Commission.

At the start of May, ABC said Chvastek would be back on air by the middle of the month, but that did not happen and listeners are demanding to know where she is.

An ABC spokesman confirmed to Daily Mail Australia a claim was made to the Fair Work Commission and declined to comment further on the matter.

Chvastek's lawyer Mark Comito said taking action against her employer was one that she 'did not take lightly'. 

'Nicole is a senior journalist and presenter and has been employed, as you know, for some period of time at the ABC
