White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tore into Gov. Ron DeSantis' 'Florida plan' Tuesday when asked about an NAACP 'travel advisory' for the state that calls the state 'openly hostile' to African Americans.
Jean-Pierre avoided comment on the ban specifically when asked about it at her daily press briefing. But that didn't stop her from ripping state 'lawmakers' – in a series of digs that didn't mention the Florida governor, who plans to announce his presidential campaign tomorrow, by name.
'So I'm not going to to comment on the travel advisory specifically, but I'll say this broadly and where we have been as administration as the White House, we've been outspoken about the impact of misguided policies' in the state, she said.
'Lawmakers in Florida have attacked diversity and inclusion efforts and limited the teaching of black history, and they have launched attacks on LGBT, immigrants, educators, and women's reproductive freedom. That's what you have seen from lawmakers in Florida,' she said.
