People have since taken to social media to pay their respects to Swale and send condolences to family and friends.
One friend posted a tribute online: 'How am I even writing this, oh my girl I am going to miss you so much. You never failed to light up any room you walked in. You had the kindest soul and I'm forever grateful to have made some of the most special memories with you.
'I'll miss our FaceTimes and our daily texts to each other I wouldn't of got through life if it weren't for you, thank you for always being that friend I could count on. Hope your dancing with the stars now our Queen forever21.'
Merseyside Police also offered condolences as they announced that an investigation had been launched into Swale's death and said that a 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
