'Satanists' who terrorised a beauty spot with occult-style animal killings are feared to have returned after a 10-week old lamb was found dumped at a pond with its throat slit.

Villagers say they are concerned the suspected occultists have made a return to the village of Bramshaw - which has been plagued with bizarre occurrences, often involving dead animals, for years.

Farmer Patrick Langdown, 66, revealed he was 'shocked' after finding his lamb with its throat slashed and body abandoned by a pond.

Mr Langdown made the gruesome discovery two miles from his home in Bramshaw, a picturesque village in the New Forest National Park, Hampshire.

Since 2019, flocks in the area have been plagued by mysterious occult-style attacks and rituals.

In January, animal hearts surrounded by candles were found at a beauty spot as part of an apparent ritual.

A few weeks before that, a local reverend raised the prospect of 'witchcraft' after his church was targeted in 'upsetting' attacks.

A dead cat was found hanging from the church's flagpole, and a dead fox was deliberately placed on the doorstep.

In 2019, vandals sprayed the same church with phallic and Satanic symbols.

That same year, police launched an investigation after sheep and cattle were found stabbed and sprayed with occult markings in the space of five days within a few miles of each other in the Bramshaw area.

The most recent 'mindless' attack has sent 'shockwaves' through the local community, raising concerns that the 'weird' incidents might be happening again.

Mr Langdown said he can't sleep at night. He was alerted to the dead lamb by an agister after a member of the public made the grim discovery at Longcross Pond near the village of Fritham on Thursday.

He said: 'We come from an industry which provides animals for meat, but this was quite horrible.

'The ewe is walking up and down looking for her lamb, calling out for it.

'Whoever dispatched it must have done it at Bramshaw, then taken it up to the pond and dumped it there. The lamb didn't get there on its own.

'There's been weird things happening in the forest for a while now, with the dead sheep and the cats on poles and all those bits and pieces.

'I've grazed my sheep here for two years now, but the woman who owns the farm, she's had this all her life.

'I did have five sheep killed last year, and their skins were left behind, and in another field, some of my sheep were let
