Passengers who fly with Air New Zealand will be asked to step on the scales as part of a new survey to determine the average weight of flyers.
The Kiwi carrier will conduct the survey over the next five weeks as they weigh passengers and their luggage.
The data will be used to determine the weight of everything that goes onboard a flight.
Two scales will be set up at gate lounges at Auckland International Airport.
Those who take part in the survey need to
