Trump blasts his former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany as milktoast after ... trends now

Former President Trump turned on his former press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, criticizing her on his Truth Social on Tuesday night accusing her of sharing inaccurate poll numbers during an appearance on Fox News.

'Kayleigh 'Milktoast' McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on Fox News. I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up,' the former president wrote, using his nickname for Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis while incorrectly spelling the term milquetoast

'While 25 is great, it's not 34. She knew the number was corrected upwards by the group that did the poll. The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!' Trump continued.

The term milquetoast describes someone who is seen as bland or feeble.

Former aide, McEnany, 35, was the last person to serve in the role of White House press secretary before Trump's presidency came to an end in January 2021 having started the in the role in April 2020.

While acknowledging that a 25-point poll lead is still significant, Trump emphasized that the correct number was 34 points.

He went onto state how he believed McEnany knew the correct figure but still went on to share the wrong information before concluding that she was aligned with 'RINOS & Globalists' and recommended that Fox News only feature 'REAL Stars.'

During her appearance on the network's show Outnumbered, McEnany briefly discussed recent polling in Iowa which suggests DeSantis is narrowing the gap with the former president since he formally announced his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination last week.

'The Desantis team would say we just had polling comes out that shows we closed the gap by nine points since we announced in Iowa. Still, Trump is hugely ahead but they say they are closing the gap. If you look at polling it was Trump 34 in Iowa and its now 25. That's double-digits.'

Although the poll referred to by Trump and McEnany was not identified a recent survey conducted by Emerson College Polling suggests Trump has a 42-point lead over DeSantis among Iowa voters.
