A body has been found in the search for a teenage girl who got into difficulties while swimming in a dam.
Emergency services were called to Carr Mill Dam, in St Helens, Merseyside, around 12.30pm on Thursday after reports of a concern for safety of a 15-year-old girl.
She was swimming with friends when got into distress in the water.
A search was launched and police have now confirmed that a body has been found, although the identity has not yet been confirmed.
Next of kin have been made aware and specialist family liaison officers will provide the family with support.
