Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen plans to tear down storage area at 16th Century ... trends now
Changing Rooms icon Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has plans to redesign his own home - demolishing part of his historic 16th Century home to build an extension - complete with a green roof.
The former DIY SOS star, 58, wants to knock down an existing utility room at his six-bedroom Cotswolds mansion and replace it with a bigger one.
But he needs planning permission from the local council as the property is Grade II listed although there have so far been no objections from neighbours or conservationists Historic England.
He also wants to reinstate existing doorways and an old staircase to create two separate living areas.
And the utility room extension will have a green sedum roof with wildflowers to boost insulation and create a wildlife habitat.
