Social media fraudsters are doing a roaring trade selling bogus exam papers to 'desperate' students, an investigation has found.
Pupils are shelling out hundreds of pounds for GCSE and A-Level papers on TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat.
But after sending payment, the scam accounts often sent nothing back and refuse to answer further messages.
Exam boards routinely scour social media for fraudulent profiles and ask the platforms to take them down.
They warn it is an increasing issue, likening it to 'digital whack-a-mole', with accounts taken down just reappearing again under different names.
