A frustrated homeowner fed-up with salespeople hung a sign on their door warning they will start charging unwanted visitors by the minute.
The laminated sign was tied to the front door with shoelace at a property in western Sydney.
'DOOR KNOCKERS PLEASE NOTE,' the sign reads.
'This household charges $20.00 per minute to listen to sales pitches and or religious messages.
The laminated sign says that $20 is expected to be paid per minute for any sales pitches or religious messages, and places a ban on soliciting
'By knocking on this door you signal your agreement with the terms outlined above.'
The sign then took a bizarre turn after referencing Jesus and beer.
'NO SOLICITING. We are too broke to buy anything. We know who we are voting for [and] we have found Jesus,' it read.
'Seriously, unless you are giving away beer. PLEASE GO AWAY.'
A photograph of the sign was posted to Reddit where social media users were quick to poke fun at the sign.
'Talk about profiteering! The guy next door only charges $10 per minute,' one wrote.
'The time and effort that went into the notice isn't equivalent to the quick shoestring tie up job,' a second added.
'I'd be tempted to knock on the door just to hand them a cold beer,' another wrote.
Homeowners who do not wish to be disturbed by salespeople can attach 'do not knock' signs to their doors.
