Homeless man who was Tasered as armed cops shot dead his two dogs in viral clip which sparked public fury cries in gallery as dangerous dog charge is read out in court: Suspect will face trial next year Louis Turnboll, 46, was too unwell to enter a plea at Snaresbrook Crown Court

A homeless man who was tasered as he watched Metropolitan police officers shoot his two dogs dead in a viral clip that sparked public fury, cried in court today as his dangerous dog charge was read out.

Louis Turnboll, of no fixed address, is accused of being the owner of a dangerously out of control dog after a woman was allegedly attacked by one of them, which he previously denied. He will face trial next year.

Viral video footage posted on social media showed officers pursuing the 46-year-old, who was holding the two dogs on a short lead beside a canal in Limehouse in East London last month.

The situation quickly escalated, seeing Turnboll tasered to the ground, while both animals were shot dead. Witnesses on the balconies of surrounding flats watched the incident from above.

Today, Turnboll appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court where it was decided he was too unwell to enter a plea.
