A cryptocurrency trader accused of killing his own mum has pleaded not guilty to murder, while his glamourous social media partner kept busy running errands.
Andre Zachary Rebelo, 27, has spent the last six months behind bars following his arrest, two-and-a-half years after his mum Colleen, 58, was found dead inside her home in the affluent Perth riverside suburb of Bicton in May 2020.
He has previously pleaded not guilty to five counts of forging a document with intent to defraud and will stand trial in December.
Ms Rebelo's death was originally declared not suspicious with no obvious signs of injury until a fraud investigation led to the more serious charge two years later.
Rebelo appeared in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video-link from Casuarina Prison on Wednesday, where he denied killing his mother.
His social influencer partner and the mother of his young son Gracie Piscopo was not in court on Wednesday for the plea, The West Australian reported.
