One year after a terrifying incident in which she was struck by a moving rollercoaster, a young woman from Melbourne left fighting for life has made a miraculous recovery.

Shylah Rodden, 27, spent months recovering in hospital with serious injuries after a rollercoaster ploughed into her at Melbourne's Royal Show on September 24 last year.

She was flung nine metres into the air by the fast-moving ride after she tried to retrieve a dropped phone.

In a statement to media, her mother Kylie Rodden says her brave daughter has defied the odds by not only learning to walk again but is also now talking.

However, Shyla has been devastated by the cruel messages sent by following the horrific accident.

'Over the past year our focus has been supporting Shylah with her recovery and assisting her to move forward with her life,' Ms Rodden said.
