A young mother and Sudanese refugee has been mowed down by a car in a suspected hit-and-run on the streets of suburban Sydney.
Shocked neighbours told Daily Mail Australia they heard 'fighting' several hours before Arek Adwal, 27, was found lying in a gutter on Sherringham Road, Cranebrook near Penrith, bleeding profusely shortly before 4am Friday.
The young mother-of-two was found just 100m from her McGann Street home.
It is unclear who was responsible for running Ms Adwal over or whether the driver who hit her is the same person she was heard arguing with hours earlier.
Court records show Ms Adwal is embroiled in a messy personal situation - with a restraining order against her lesbian lover, Noreen 'Noxie' Munoirirwa, 36
Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting Ms Munoirirwa was involved in the suspected hit-and-run.
