A 32-year-old high school teacher is behind bars after being hit with a slew of charges including felony murder in relation to the tragic death of a toddler back in November 2020.
Kianna Davis' was pictured in handcuffs in a photo released by the Houston County District Attorney's office outside of her home, 40 miles north of Atlanta, on Friday.
According to the indictment, Davis is accused of killing Karter Ambrose, 2, with an 'unknown object' causing a 'fatal laceration' to the child's liver.
Another person, Kiyton Benton, 32, is also charged in relation to the murder but is not reported to be in custody. The pair's relationship to each other is not specified in the documents nor is their relationship to the child.
The pair were indicted on October 17, officials said. It's unclear why Davis was not arrested until last week.
