Optus outage outrages business owners as bosses are forced to shut up shop with ... trends now

Business owners across Australia have expressed their outrage as a massive Optus outage throws the nation into chaos. 

Optus is experiencing one of the biggest outages in Australian history with millions of customers impacted, as well as hospitals and businesses.

The outage was first reported at 4am on Wednesday with Optus mobile users saying they are unable to make or receive calls and texts, with the internet network and home broadband also down.

Optus users in Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, the ACT, Tasmania and Adelaide have all reported a blackout with the network.

Business owners accross the country have been left scrambling following the outage and have expressed their frustrations online. 

Several banks have reported some administrative issues while smaller businesses have been unable to communicate with their customers forcing some to close.

The Whyalla Central Deli in remote South Australia sent out a message to customers. 

'Sorry guys … Optus is doing its norm, and the phone line is currently not working,' they said. 

The Urban Dragonfly Espresso Bar in Bundaberg also warned its customers to prepare for changed circumstances.

'Good morning! It appears that Optus is out! So, if you are on Optus, we won't get your text-ahead orders. Please just pop in, and we will hook you up,' they wrote.

Mt Druitt service centre ANZCO Automotive told its customers it would likely close shop for the day.
