President Joe Biden's Justice Department is facing demands for an investigation into Chinese Communist Party-aligned attacks against people protesting President Xi Jinping's visit to San Francisco this month.

The House Committee on China, in a letter exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com, laid out reports of the attacks, including demonstrators 'confronted by Xi's supporters wielding (sic) with metal rods, flagpoles, closed umbrellas, and pepper spray.'

'This is just one of many examples of the CCP attempting to intimidate, silence, and harm dissidents of the People's Republic of China (PRC) living in the United States,' reads the letter sent to the DOJ on Wednesday.

The select committee, chaired by Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.), said the letter's purpose is to 'express outrage' at the 'thugs', but also is requesting a briefing on the attacks before the end of the year.
