The mobile phone of missing Gaynor Lord is being urgently analysed by police to see if it holds clues as to why the mother-of-three disappeared.

Ms Lord, 55, left work early on Friday and was declared missing five hours later when possessions including her phone, two rings and clothing were found in Wensum Park.

She was last seen in the park doing yoga poses and removing her coat which was later found in the river that runs through the park - sparking fears for her safety.

A huge search has been underway, with police divers called in to search the river.

Superintendent Wes Hornigold insisted there was ‘currently nothing to suggest this is more than a missing person inquiry’.

But he said officers were speaking to family and friends and checking Ms Lord’s phone to establish her state of mind when she left her shift at a Norwich department store.

‘There is lots of work underway to try to understand the reasons for her leaving work early.’

He added: ‘This wasn’t her normal route [home] and, coupled with the fact she left work early means there is obviously lots of work for us to do.

‘The more information we can get can help us to piece that together.

‘There’s no evidence that Gaynor has come to harm and, while we have a number of enquiries ongoing, given where her clothing was found and other items, there is a real possibility that she has entered the water.’

The force has been taking a ‘systematic approach’ to the search which is centred on Wensum Park at present but may move further downstream. Specialist divers from Lincolnshire Police joined the hunt today(WED), while advanced sonar equipment was made available following an appeal to the Home Office.

Superintendent Hornigold said: ‘We will do everything to make sure we work through both the land and water-based searches to make sure that, as we work through, we are really comfortable that each area has been searched.

‘It may widen but we will work through it as we go. But all of the information and intelligence we have at the moment is centred on the park.’

Officers ‘everything they can’ to fill in the gap between Ms Lord leaving work at 3.45pm and the discovery of her personal items later that evening.

A witness has reported seeing someone matching her description in the park at around 4pm.

If correct, Ms Lord would have had to walk directly there at some speed as it is around a mile from Jarrods department store where she worked at a concession stand.

Rosie Richards said she saw a woman matching her description in the park at around 4pm.

Ms Richards, who lives locally, told the BBC: 'It's really upsetting... I'm just thinking of her friends and family, because she is a sort of similar age to my mum and that would be awful to be going through what they are going through right now. It's really upsetting.' Police say the 'most likely scenario' is that she entered the water.

The case has similarities to that of Nicola Bulley, who sparked a high-profile search earlier this year when she dropped off her two daughters at school in St Michael's on Wyre, Lancashire.

Her body was found in the River Wyre on February 19, about a mile from where she vanished while walking her dog on January 27. Her phone and the dog's harness were discovered nearby. An inquest in June concluded she accidentally drowned.

Yesterday, Ms Lord's daughters both reposted several versions of Norfolk Police appeals for information about their mother's disappearance on Facebook.

Alexandra Lord, 22, wrote above one of them: 'Please share, if anyone knows anything please do contact the police! We want her home!'

Next to another message she wrote: 'Anything you may know small or large please contact the police!' Elder sister Charlotte, 24, a fashion entrepreneur, also reposted the police appeals on Facebook.
