An 11-year-old South Carolina boy was chased and bit nearly 60 times by a pack of mixed breed dogs while he was walking to school.

A'Rhyan Anderson was attacked by four dogs at 7.40am on February 14 on North Livingston Street in Clinton.

According to the Clinton Police Department, Anderson suffered severe injuries and had to be airlifted to the Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment.

His mother, Amy Lowe, later said he underwent surgery and is stable now.

'It's traumatizing. I'm traumatized. I'm sure my son is traumatized.

'He has a long road of recovery. He was bitten over 60 times. There's no muscle. They ate all the muscle out of his left leg,' Lowe told FOX8
