A pilot who battered his estranged wife to death could kill again if he is released from jail, a court heard yesterday.

Former British Airways pilot Robert Brown has shown no remorse and officials fear he is a risk to any future wife or girlfriend, and to the family and friends of his victim Joanna Simpson, including the couple's two children.

Joanna's mother Diana Parkes and her best friend Hetti Barkworth-Nanton led a high-profile campaign to block his automatic release from prison, after he served 13 years of a 26-year sentence.

Mrs Parkes has said she fears for her family's safety if Brown is released on licence.

Brown has launched legal action against Justice Secretary Alex Chalk and claims the minister's decision to stop
