Around 70 writers from the Royal Society of Literature have called for an emergency meeting after its magazine was allegedly pulled over a passage 'sympathetic to Palestine', according to reports.
The fellows of the society are demanding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) after the suspension of the society's annual magazine in December.
Some of the biggest names in literature including Margaret Atwood, Kazuo Ishiguro, Ian McEwan and Philip Pullman have added their name to a letter to The Times over the alleged 'censorship' over the pro-Palestine statement.
But the society has denied that this was the reason the magazine was pulled.

The writers have joined with former presidents of the Royal Society of Literature Marina Warner and Colin Thubron to express their concern over the 'serious reputational damage' to
