We leave bedside lamps on for our murdered children: Grief-stricken mothers of ... trends now
The grief-stricken mothers of stabbed teenagers Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley Kumar have told how they keep a light on for them at night.
University students Grace and Barney, both 19, were stabbed to death by paranoid schizophrenic Valdo Calocane while walking home from a night out in Nottingham just after 4am on June 13 last year.
Their mothers, Sinéad O'Malley-Kumar and Emma Webber, said they are 'intrinsically linked' by the tragedy which also saw the death of 65-year-old caretaker Ian Coates.
Speaking to The Times, Mrs O'Malley-Kumar said: 'I turn Grace's bedside light on at night-time. It's just inside the door.'
'I do too, every night,' Mrs Webber added. 'I always say, ''I'm not leaving you in the dark, Barney.'' '

'We're intrinsically linked, I suppose. Barney and Grace, they're together now. I suppose it's apt that we are.'
The two mothers also criticised the police and Crown Prosecution Service, saying they have 'lost faith in the justice system'.
