Disturbing photographs show the gruesome scene where the body of a young mum was discovered a wheelie bin on an isolated road.
The body of Chaithanya 'Swetha' Madhagani, 30, was found stuffed into a green wheelie bin on Mount Pollock Road in Buckley, west of Geelong, at 12pm Saturday.
The bin spent much of Saturday in the sweltering heat before homicide detectives arrived in the late afternoon.
Photos from the scene show the bin half hidden behind a bush with a large white blanket folded beside it.
The mother-of-one was found by police and sources familiar with her said the father of her son, Ashok Raj Varikuppala, recently left the country for India with their child.
Mr Varikuppala, who has not been accused of any wrongdoing, has been in contact with family members in Victoria and will co-operate with police in their investigation.
