Even Bunnings community sausage sizzles can't escape the grip of Australia's inflation crisis with the hardware giant announcing a price hike.

On its website Bunnings confirmed that from February 1 the price of drinks increased by 50 cents, pushing them up to $2 each.

However the statement noted that 'the price of a price of a sausage in bread will remain at $3.50', with or without onions.

A spokesperson from Bunnings elaborated on the price increase and stated that the decision was made 'in response to feedback from community groups'.

Their goal is to increase the profitability of the iconic food drives that Bunnings hosts each weekend.

The spokesperson went on to tell news.com.au that these groups have 'seen a decline' in their recent profits.

'The change responds to calls from local community groups, not-for-profits and charities that have seen a decline in funds raised due to the increased cost of the goods required to run the BBQ,' the spokesperson said.
