A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 50-year-old man died in a house fire.
The 36-year-old suspect is being held by Sussex Police after the body was found by fire crews tackling a blaze in Brighton in the early hours of this morning.
The man was confirmed dead at the scene, a basement flat in the three-storey property in Preston Road, after emergency services attended at about 4am.
It is understood the woman under arrest, who was treated by paramedics, comes from the city.
