The husband of a woman whose body was found stuffed in a wheelie bin has reportedly returned to India with their son.

Chaithanya 'Swetha' Madhagani, 30, was found dead inside a green wheelie bin on Mount Pollock Road in Buckley, west of Geelong, southwest of Melbourne, at about 12pm on Saturday.

No arrests have been made in relation to her death while two crime scenes have been established by police - one on Mount Pollock Road and another 82km away at a residential address in Mirka Wat in Point Cook, Melbourne.

Ms Madhagani's husband, Ashok Raj Varikuppala, is understood to have recently flown back to India with their three-year-old son Arya, The Herald Sun reported.

Mr Varikuppala reportedly called family members in Victoria to tell them of his wife's death.

Indian police spokesman Inspector Veera Swamy at Kushaiguda police station said 'her husband visited the mother-in-law a few days ago and handed him his son'.
