The man in his 60s from Koumala south of Mackay in central Queensland was pronounced dead at the scene, Queensland police confirmed. Emergency services were called to the scene at 7.40pm on Thursday evening, the Daily Mercury reported, including an RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter. The man had suffered critical injuries 'When police got there he was pinned under the quad bike and he was pronounced deceased a short time later … a tragic accident from the sounds of it,' a QPS spokesperson said. 'It does appear the quad had rolled into some form of water … we don't have a lot of information as to what injuries he suffered, that it was immersion … we can just confirm he had critical traumatic injuries,' the spokeswoman said. Emergency services were called to the scene at Koumala near Mackay at 7.40pm on Thursday evening, the Daily Mercury reported, including an RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter 'The patient was trapped underneath the bike and paramedics discovered the patient in traumatic arrest.'
