Harry Redknapp narrowly missed out on a £50,000 payday at Cheltenham after his horse was pipped to the finish line.

The Jukebox Man was defeated right in the final stretch of the 2.50pm Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle as Stellar Story rode to victory.

The former West Ham and Tottenham manager, 77, cut a visibly disappointed figure after the race.

He had stood to win £75,965 if The Jukebox Man finished first, meaning he lost close to £50k as second place was only awarded £28,620.

Stellar Story, who was at 119-1, ended up winning the race in dramatic fashion with a late surge.
