Empty vodka bottles and takeaway cartons are usually all you would expect to find in student accommodation bins.
But Sally Sparks was shocked to instead discover a treasure trove of designer gear left outside university flats.
While 'bin diving' she found Burberry shirts, Gucci shoes, Louis Vuitton earrings and even an Apple watch.
The Glasgow 31-year-old, who worked at a private student accommodation block, kitted out her wardrobe with £5,000 worth of items, which would have ended up in landfill, and gave more than £10,000 of designer gear to good causes.
Ms Sparks told news website What's The Jam: 'It makes me so sad to see how much is wasted every year, especially knowing that it happens at every accommodation every single year. I've donated so much of the things I've rescued to homeless shelters, local charities and friends.
