A man in his 20s has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing outside a mosque where the victim ran to find refuge.
Worshippers at the Central Oxford Mosque have been hailed as heroes after they gave first aid to the victim, a man in his 40s, who staggered into the place of worship minutes after being attacked.
Thames Valley Police were called to the mosque on Wednesday March 13 following reports of a stabbing in a nearby alleyway. The man was later taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The police have confirmed today that Hassan Hussain, a 24-year-old man from Oxford, has been charged with attempted murder in connection with this incident.
