A cuckolded husband who put up with his wife's 'multiple affairs' finally snapped and punched her rugby-playing new lover, a court heard.

David Lukey, an aerospace engineer, flew into a rage when he returned to the family home to find wife Andrea half-naked and evidence of another man in the house.

The 46-year-old went round looking for him and when he found Christopher Andrews in the kitchen he punched him in the mouth, splitting his lip.

He then smashed up two TVs and family photos before trying to drag his estranged wife from the property, accidentally pulling off her top in the process.

The police were called to the suburban address in Blandford, Dorset, and arrested Lukey for assault and causing criminal damage.

Lukey has avoided a prison sentence after he admitted charges for assaulting Mr Andrews and Mrs Lukey and criminal damage. He also said he had reacted 'under extreme provocation' to his wife's 'multiple affairs'.

Poole Magistrate Court heard that the couple had been married for 10 years but Prosecutor Jason Spelman said Mrs Lukey claimed the relationship had 'struggled' in recent years.

Mr Spelman said that Lukey and his wife had separated six weeks earlier and that Mrs Lukey now considered herself single.

The couple had an an agreement that he could return to the house to see his children and do his washing. On the morning of September 20 2023 he arrived to find someone else's car on the drive.

Mr Spelman said: 'His wife appeared wearing minimal clothing and he described feeling f***ing livid knowing there was another man in the house.
