A motorist has captured footage of the bizarre moment he spotted a wallaby bouncing along a main road in Devon - which is more than 10,000 miles from its home in Tasmania.
The driver spotted the marsupial near Crediton in south Devon and pulled over to film his encounter.
A video was then sent last week to documentary filmmaker and wildlife researcher Tim Whittard, who investigates reports of out-of-place animals.
He said: 'It's quite a remarkable sighting.
'The witnesses do not want to be named, but were both completely bemused by the experience - the driver said she had never expected to see a wallaby casually hopping down the road, and thought it was a baby kangaroo at first.
