A mid-air birth has netted a newborn boy a package of free flights on a Mexican airline.
Haitian Wilene Tulus, 42, started having contractions moments after her Aeroméxico flight departed from Mexico City to the norther border city of Ciudad Juárez and went into labor on Friday.
Tulus and her husband, Dieumete Saintil, 40, had recently abandoned violence-torn Haiti and boarded flight 113 for their trip to the border region with the United States, where they had an appointment with U.S. immigration agents to discuss their asylum application.
Tulus, who has another son, alerted the flight attendants of her condition about 20 minutes after the flight was in the air.
