Staff at a major construction company learned over a Zoom call that they'd been sacked - with the firm collapsing, owing $7million.

Main Facilities Pty Ltd entered into administration last Wednesday.

The company, based in NSW, and which traded as Main Industries, did contract work for the state government such as on projects for schools, healthcare and corrections facilities and courts.

The director of Main Facilities, George Bancs, who drives a flashy McLaren with personalised number plates, blamed the collapse on the government ending contracts with them, news.com.au reported.

This, however, was denied by a government spokesperson.

Main Facilities owes a total of $7million to creditors, including its 15 staff and Mr Bancs.
