Wrongfully convicted sub-postmistress Janet Skinner has said she wants 'justice' and 'accountability' for the the Post Office scandal that led to her spending months in a drug-infested jail cell.

The 52-year-old was forced to endure a  prison sentence in 2007 over an alleged shortfall of £59,000 from her Post Office in Hull.

Ms Skinner told BBC Newsnight what she wanted to happen to those responsible for the miscarriage of justice that saw more than 700 Post Office branch managers falsely accused of stealing.

She told Victoria Derbyshire she wanted 'arrests, people held accountable, sent to prison, having confiscations made against them, losing all their assets, the same way we've been treated.

She added: 'I lost my job in 2006 and I was sent to prison in February of 2007.

Ms Skinner also revealed to The Sun that her lawyer, Karl Turner, now a Labour MP in Hull, advised her to plead guilty in a bid to avoid jailtime.

Pressure has been mounting on the Post Office to face criminal action last night after secret recordings proved its bosses -  including CEO Paula Vennells - covered up the Horizon IT scandal.

They revealed that the company and Fujitsu knew their faulty computer system could alter sub-postmasters' accounts more than ten years ago, despite denying this for years.
